Ok, ok, we finally have a blog. Thank you Adam and Britney.
To start off I'll relay a little story about Little Milt. Well, its really mostly about Taylor. Anyway, for the first couple of weeks, Heidi and I were amazed at how great the new baby was. He never cried, screamed, or yelled. As a matter of fact, more than once I had to check on him just to make sure he was still alive. I like to think he'd adopted the 'whatever' outlook on life. "I'm cool, dude. Don't worry. I'll let you know when I need anything."
Lately, however, Little Milt has learned that when he cries or screams, he gets attention and whatever is wrong gets taken care of. At first he did it just a little bit to let us know. But now, he's gotten into the habit of going on and on until he's taken care of.
In my infinite wisdom, with Heidi's approval (I put that in there just in case she reads this), we have agreed to avoid rushing to him when he cries so that he doesn't get used to immediate results. This is where Taylor comes into the story. Now that the baby cries so much, we are constantly bombarded with "Give the baby a bottle", or "I think the baby's teeth are coming in", from Taylor.
I think what strikes me the most about having the new baby in the house is how disinterested Olivia and Taylor seem to be. When asked how they like the baby, both will reply, "OK." Olivia does help to make the formula and Taylor will let the little dude 'beat him up', but that's about all the real interest they have for now. I think Olivia may have been a little more interested if it had been a girl. Both Heidi and I think that once the baby begins to show a little more personality, that they will begine to show even more interest.
